Saugatuck Vice President to Present New Research Findings on Enterprise Social Computing at Defrag Conference 2008

Enterprise Social Computing research to separate industry hype from enterprise reality.

Westport, CT (PRWEB) August 21, 2008 — What are mid- and large-size companies really doing with Enterprise Social Computing today? Are vendors ready and able to deliver the business value that users expect? Can the business benefits of Enterprise Social Computing be measured? And what do users and vendors need to do to successfully leverage the promise of these technologies?

On Monday, November 3rd, Saugatuck Technology research vice president Mark Koenig will address these key issues in a keynote at the Defrag Conference 2008, to be held at the Hyatt Regency in Denver, CO. Mr. Koenig’s presentation will include findings from Saugatuck’s latest research into Enterprise Social Computing in a session titled, “Social Computing and the Enterprise: Bridging the Gaps.”

Saugatuck will unveil at Defrag some of the key research findings from its new Enterprise Social Computing research agenda, and upcoming research report planned for publication in late 2008 or early 2009. The research includes deep-dive interviews with more than 30 senior business and IT executives already engaged in enterprise-wide Social Networking initiatives, as well as briefings with more than a dozen leading and emerging Enterprise Social Computing providers.

“Saugatuck is pleased to be participating in Defrag Conference 2008,” said Mr. Koenig. “I am looking forward to sharing the results of our research and clearing up some of the myths and misconceptions around the true business benefits of Enterprise Social Computing, and the broader impact that it is having on enterprise IT, business operations, and organizations.”
“Saugatuck has a reputation for impact-filled research, so we’re incredibly excited to have Saugatuck release and present their newest findings at this year’s Defrag,” said Eric Norlin, managing partner of Defrag. He went on to add, “Defrag’s been experiencing amazing growth this year, and I expect that this growth is reflective of the marketplace’s interest in the topic Saugatuck will present.”

Also keynoting at Defrag 2008 will be such industry leaders as Esther Dyson, Founder of EDventure, and Professor William Duggan of the Columbia Business School.
